Textures, Art and Flavors

Zest Restaurant in the San Juan Water Beach Club Hotel launches new concept

The trendy zone of Isla Verde adds to its celebrated gastronomic repertoire ZEST’s new concept – a modern and warm space in the chic San Juan Water Beach Club Hotel where community, culture and local flavors mix with a relaxed atmosphere to celebrate Puerto Rican cuisine.

Inspired by elements of earth, wind, fire and water, ZEST’s new ambiance and decoration is complemented in perfect harmony with a permanent collection by the Puerto Rican artist Lex Tirado, renowned for its fauvism-impressionist style that accentuates the use of colors in direct and vigorous brushstrokes combining textures and mixed media.

Executive Chef Raúl Correa’s new creations combine flavors, textures and aromas to offer a unique gastro-artistic experience. Based on plates to share, the new menu is inspired by iconic dishes from our Puerto Rican cuisine with global influence using products grown and produced by our farming community.

The delicious selection of small plates includes longaniza-stuffed dates in bacon with ajilimójili; mushroom-manchego empanadas; spicy tuna with avocado mayonnaise and pork belly sliders with guava barbecue sauce and chayote slaw. Main courses include locally-raised pan-roasted half chicken served with stewed lentils and gremolata; grilled hanger steak served with carrot puree and green romesco sauce, and pan-roasted salmon fillet served with corn-coconut grits and a pepper-pineapple sauce. For a sweet, refreshing ending, the chef recommends piña colada crepes with whipped coconut.

ZEST was received TripAdvisor’s Certificate of Excellence 2016 for the third consecutive year and the Open Table’s “Diners’ Choice 2016” award.
